Review: Key West Sunset Ale

Key West Sunset Ale from Florida Beer Company
Rating: C+

This is described by the company as an American Amber, not an APA, and it matches the former much better.

Appearance: Pours an attractive amber color, with a one finger white head. Decent retention, but no lacing.

Smell: Crisp, light aroma. Some caramel malt, slightly oxidized.

Taste: Caramel malts and citrusy hops. Acidic middle and a good finish. Balanced much more like an amber than an APA.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Well-carbonated. Aftertaste is slightly offensive.

Drinkability: Unextraordinary, but decent.

Serving type: bottle
