Review: Fiddler's Green India Pale Ale

Fiddler's Green India Pale Ale from Matt Brewing Company, The
Rating: B

The hoppiest beer I've had since getting back from Hong Kong last weekend - a refreshing change!

Appearance is surprisingly light in color, a light amber, with a good sized head with fair retention and minor lacing. Smell is of big hops - floral, pine, some citrus. I see that this is listed as an English IPA - could have fooled me, I'd call it an East Coast American IPA, from the aroma. Flavor is hoppy, cleanly bitter, piney. As it warms, sweet malts come more and more into balance. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Drinkability is decent.
