Review: Hofbräu Maibock (Urbock)

Hofbräu Maibock (Urbock) from Staatliches Hofbräuhaus (Hofbräu München)
Rating: B

Appearance: poured from a green bottle, attractive amber color, good sized head. mediocre retention. surprised to see a few floaties.

Smell: fairly light aroma. some grassy hops. light malt.

Taste: Bit of honey, grassy hops. Some malty sweetness and a hint of toast. Slightly medicinal, alcoholic, bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: medium body, good carbonation.

Drinkability: Fairly quaffable. Sessionable, surprising to see it's so high in alcohol.

Serving type: bottle
